Current work aims to represent the sublime experience within the natural and manmade landscape. Space and structure are juxtaposed to create balance and harmony and signage is used within work to identifying how man has mapped and controlled the land. Research is gathered from multiple journeys through diverse landscapes.
Drawings and paintings produced are then developed using mixed media, exploring the textured and layered qualities found in the geology of the land.
Teaching the cross-disciplinary aspects of drawing is key to supporting individual learners on the Fda Art and Design course, enriching them with the knowledge and insight on how drawing is used to underpin a wide range of subject areas in the art and design world. Students are encouraged to experiment and explore media, materials and techniques with the intention that this will inform and shape their individual drawing language.
