The [techne] ² End of Year exhibition explored the relationship between Art & Design, uniting and contrasting works through a shared ethos of ‘making is thinking’.  The exhibition featured a wide range of unique, hand crafted & limited works, including experimental digital and performance-based works.

‘Techne’ (τέχνη) is a Greek term broadly meaning ‘craft’ but including aspects of specialist study, applied knowledge and creativity. Richard Sennett in The Craftsman(London, Penguin, 2009 p.9) notes that craft in any form entails an “intimate connection between hand and head……a dialogue between concrete practices and thinking”.
