The [techne]* interim exhibition explored the relationship between Art & Design, uniting and contrasting works through a shared ethos of ‘making is thinking’.  Showcasing the BA and FdA students of Kingston College, the exhibition featured a wide range of unique, hand crafted & limited works, including digital and performance-based interactions.

*Techne (τέχνη) is a Greek term broadly meaning ‘craft’ but including aspects of specialist study, applied knowledge and creativity. Richard Sennett in The Craftsman(London, Penguin, 2009 p.9) notes that craft in any form entails an “intimate connection between hand and head……a dialogue between concrete practices and thinking”.
